This document provides an introduction to VAPOR’s data storage model, the VAPOR Data Collection (VDC), and presents information needed for preparing data for visualization and analysis in the VAPOR environment. Note, not all data need be converted to the VDC format. Some model outputs, such as WRF-ARW, MOM4, POP, and GRIMs, may be directly imported into vaporgui. However, for high-resolution data sets conversion to the VDC is recommended.
