Starting this topic to keep track of what I'm hoping to have in POP ahead of the code freeze (originally scheduled for June 19, but pushed back to July 2nd):

1. G1850ECOIAF_JRA_HR compset that uses POP2%ECO, CICE%CICE4, and SWAV

   • Will require new defaults for BGC initial conditions, forcing files, etc on tx0.1v3 grid
   • Also, make sure all G compsets with _HR use CICE%CICE4
   • New testmods directory for this compset (useful way to track changes between compset defaults and our experiment; e.g. turning off ice age tracer in CICE, minor tweaks to other ice namelist variables)

2. MARBL updates:

   • Bugfix: some real values were missing the _r8 kind specifier
   • Update tunings in settings_latest.yaml
   • New settings file settings_with_cocco.yaml to get coccolithophores out of the box along with updated parameters (also, update picpoc formulation)

3. Updating MARBL will require POP updates

   • Use latest MARBL tag
   • allow OCN_BGC_CONFIG=with_cocco (i.e. update valid_values list)
   • Create 1 degree initial condition file with coccolithophores (tuning was done using the cesm2.1+cocco initial conditions)
   • Add a test for OCN_BGC_CONFIG=with_cocco (maybe modify ecosys_add_cocco and then create ecosys_add_cesm21_cocco?)
