If you're like me, and have been searching for a solution to visualize CAM-SE output (e.g., ne30/ne120, variables indexed by ncol
) in python without having to rely on NCL ncremap
, there is a great ongoing discussion on github: https://github.com/UXARRAY/uxarray/issues/183
It looks like there are a variety of existing and upcoming solutions out there. This also links back to some discussions we had during the ESDS event.
Of course now I also see @Max Grover has a blog post on this topic from conversations with @Stephen Yeager last year
https://ncar.github.io/esds/posts/2021/cesm-datashader/index.html
And this has been discussed in multiple previous zulip threads e.g., #ESDS > unstructured regridding ESMF and #python-questions > plotting cam-se data? so it's worth referencing those conversations.
