FYI, I added a notebook to compare RBSP/FB fluxes to Van de Kamp to the github repo.
@Daniel Marsh would would the units of the vdk_energy_spectrum
be here? https://github.com/NCAR/solar-forcing/blob/main/notebooks/calculate_flux_from_ap_csv.ipynb
Also, should we add Katharine to this stream?
@Daniel Marsh I put together an example of the new API I built within the repo... feel free to check it out https://github.com/NCAR/solar-forcing/blob/main/notebooks/simplified_api_example.ipynb
Cool. Is it OK to drop by this afternoon to talk about it this? I am free except 3:30-4:30
Sure - drop by anytime!
I updated the readme for the repo/package with installation instructions...
https://github.com/NCAR/solar-forcing
I also added the setup.py
file which allows the solarweather
package to installed into whichever environment you working in. There are still more features to add, and make available on pypi, but it is decent shape as of now.
