Hi outreach friends! If I check availability, do y'all have some time to meet this week to make room for any pre-AMS chat? Preferably today or Thursday if so. This could also be totally asynchronous

I am on the way to NYC for a two-day trip. Thursday is the only day I have available. I am flying to Denver Friday afternoon. Happy to coordinate asynchrously! Happy birthday in advance, Julia!

Thursday sounds good to me - along with any time this afternoon. Happy early birthday @Julia Kent ! Enjoy NYC @Kevin Tyle !

I've been pretty busy with prep, so let's keep it async. And happy almost birthday Julia!

@Max Grover @Kevin Tyle, if Pythia would like to have its own breakout group at the Pangeo hackathon, can one of you take charge in drafting a post in the Discourse thread (re Paige Martin's email)? We can have it be one or two sessions and give people a brief overview of potential topics and projects to tackle. Separately, as that time has been booked as Unidata's holiday party while some of our remote staff travel in for AMS, I will likely not be able to attend synchronously in-person (though can help support topics/projects and planning later next week.)

@Kevin Tyle @Drew Camron how does this sound?

Breakout group: Project Pythia Educational Efforts, including Foundations, Cookbooks, and more!
@DrewCamron, @KevinTyle, @JuliaKent, and myself are excited to help lead a breakout session on Project Pythia, which focuses on creating educational content related to the geoscience (especially Pangeo) ecosystem.
In this session, we will focus on
How to create and submit a cookbook to the gallery https://cookbooks.projectpythia.org/
Assisting people contribute to foundational content https://foundations.projectpythia.org/landing-page.html by adding new content, or cleaning up the existing content
Collecting feedback on the existing materials, and where we can improve
Assisting folks contribute to existing cookbooks, infrastructure, or other related contributions.
This is not a set-in-stone plan. Please feel free to share your ideas for topics you would like to see covered during this breakout session.
Duration: Morning and afternoon sessions, people are welcome to attend either or both
Pre-requisites : None! Willingness to learn is always a plus.
