I think Mike also has changes to MOM_interface, the parent of the above directory, for building MOM+MARBL within CESM.
I'm not sure if Mike has built standalone MOM+MARBL.

I have not built standalone MOM+MARBL - one of my lower-priority tasks is to figure out how to point the stand-alone build system to $MOM_ROOT/pkg/MARBL (actual MARBL code) instead of $MOM_ROOT/config_src/external/MARBL (a template that will allow $MOM_ROOT/src/tracer/MARBL_tracers.F90 to build but will abort if USE_MARBL_TRACERS=True)
