Several conferences and symposia, including the (formerly just Python) Programming Languages of Open Science, EIPT, and Education have extended the abstract deadline to next Thursday, 8/31 at midnight Eastern.
@Kevin Tyle Is that official? AMS site still shows 24 August for all of those.
Not “official “ but the conference chairs were given the option to extend the deadline for their conferences. Many (including the former Python conference) have done so.
They indicated so on a shared Google doc, so not on the main website.

My "pithy" abstract is ready for review, and Drew's is looking good as well ... please chime in with your comments on the Google Doc ! I intend to submit mine by noon eastern tomorrow (Thursday).
Given that we're submitting to the same session ... I wonder if we should opt for 1 poster and 1 oral (I'm fine with either)? Or should we just leave it to the session chairs to make that call? (it looks like we have to choose one or the other, but not "either is fine" .... I guess we could put that in the extra notes?)
Typically if you choose "oral" that really means "sessions chairs choose and either is fine" but if you choose "poster" that means "poster". I would just leave it as-is and let the session chairs make the call.
+1. I also mentioned in the note to organizers that we had two and intend for them to be distinct, but to let us know if we need to clarify that any further
Mine's all submitted! Thanks all for the feedback
I've submitted mine as well!
