Often 3D data volumes are highly asymmetric. For example weather is often predicted in volumes that are hundreds or thousands of kilometers across (North-South and East-West) however the volume may be only one or two kilometers from bottom to top. To improve visualization of such data, VAPOR supports the setting of stretch factors (in the Visualizer Features panel). The scene can be stretched by an arbitrary factor in X, Y, and/or Z direction. Note that the scene stretching only affects the appearance of the data; it does not modify the value of variables or the results of flow integration.
