Creating additional visualizers.  The VAPOR GUI initially has one large window on the right side in which 3D visualizations are displayed.  However many more (up to 16) visualizer windows can be used simultaneously.  To create a new visualizer, select "Create New Visualizer" from the Visualizer selector at the top of the VAPOR GUI window:

A visualizer can be deleted by clicking the delete icon in the corner of the visualizer window.

Active Visualizer:  The visualizer selector will always indicate the name of the current active visualizer, which by default is of the form "Visualizer No. X".  When you change the settings in a renderer tab (Model, Barbs, 2D, Image, Probe, Flow, Iso, DVR), these settings always apply to the current active visualizer.  You can change the current active visualizer by clicking the left mouse button in another visualizer, or by selecting a visualizer in the visualizer selector.

Visualizer arrangement: Next to the visualizer selector are two icons for arranging visualizers:    The left icon will rearrange all the visualizers to tile the screen; the right icon will stack the visualizers in a cascade pattern.  Users can also manually move, resize, minimize, maximize, or delete an individual visualizer window by using the controls on the visualizer window.

Global and Local settings.  The Region, View, and Animation tabs are different from the other tabs in that they have a Scope selector at the top, which, when more than one visualizer is present, can be set either to "Global Settings" or "Local Settings".  If the tab's Scope is set to "Local Settings" then its settings apply to just the current active visualizer.  By default the Region, View, and animation tabs are set to "Global Settings"  which means that the settings apply to all the visualizers that are not using local settings; by default there is only one region, viewpoint, and time step, that is used in all rendering windows.

The renderer tabs (Model, Barbs, 2D, Image, Probe, Flow, Iso, DVR) are always Local:  The renderer only applies to the current visualizer.  To use the same rendering in multiple visualizers, make an instance copy from one visualizer to another, as described in Renderer Instances.

For example, if you are using Local settings in the View panel, then the viewpoint in the current active visualizer can be manipulated separately from the viewpoints in other visualizers.  All the viewpoints that use Global settings will work together.  In the following screenshot, the visualizer on the left (Visualizer No. 0) is using Local viewpoint settings and the two visualizers on the right are sharing the Global viewpoint settings:
