Hi
I've download and installed Vapor 2.4 RC0 (Windows 7 64 bit) and I'm getting the following errors:
On openning Vapor:
Code 4017
Message: No .efc files found in directory
Other Message: Could not load Banner Image
Same thing happens when I load a data set.
If I try to display a spherical data set I get:
Code 4017
Message: Base effect "SphericalDVR" is not loaded
followed by
Code 4005
Message: Failure to initialize OpenGL renderer....
So, is this version still not working with spherical data sets? Should I go back again to version 2.1?
Regards
Dário
Dario,
Is this on Linux? Which version? Did you source vapor-setup.csh or vapor-setup.sh in your shell (see http://www.vapor.ucar.edu/docs/vapor-installation/vapor-unix-binary-inst...).

Sorry, Dario, I did not notice that you stated you are on Windows 7. Would you please check to see the value of the following environment variables? Go to Control Panel->system->Advanced System Settings->Environment Variables.
What is the value of VAPOR_HOME ?
What is the value of PATH (at least the first 2 or three paths in PATH)?
Also, did you get any warnings or diagnostic messages when you installed vapor?
Thanks,
-Alan
Hi Alan
sorry for the late reply. This seems to be a problem with the 64bit version only.
Meanwhile (before reading your reply) I downloaded and installed the 32bit version, and most of the PATH related errors are gone.
The spherical DVR though is still displayed in a corrupted way and in the SELECTION pane I do not have access to Latitute - Longitude control. It looks like the same renderer problems that version 2.3 had.
Cheers (and a good year to you)
Dário
Hi Dario, thanks for your feedback. It would be really great if you can find out what are the values of VAPOR_HOME and PATH, both with the 64-bit and with the 32-bit installation of VAPOR on your computer. That could probably tell me what is wrong.

Dear Alan (and other Vapor tech people)
are there any plans to fix the spherical renderer in Vapor? If not, what is the simplest way to visualize a bunch of spherical data in vapor? I've been waiting for this feature since version 2.1!!!
Cheers
Dário
