VAPOR supports two different ways of changing scene extents over time.
Some models (e.g. WRF-ARW hurricane prediction) can produce data volumes that move over time, for example tracking the location of a moving hurricane. This is supported in VAPOR by allowing the scene extents to be translated, with a different translation at each time step. All boxes in the scene are translated with the same displacement as the scene extents. The viewpoint camera position is by default translated with the scene; however, when visualizing georeferenced data, there is a checkbox in the View panel, labelled "Position camera in latitude/longitude coordinates". When checked, the camera will remain at a fixed lat/lon position, and the 3D scene will move relative to the camera.
The Region panel supports translating and resizing the region box over time within the full scene extents. This capability is intended to support visualization of features in the volume that move over time. The region box locations can be specified by reading a file, or the box locations can be specified interactively.
