It is often useful to copy the extents of one box to another; for example one may want to position a rake box at the same location as the region box. There are several places in VAPOR GUI where this is supported:
In the Region panel, below the box sliders, there is a button labeled "Copy Box Extents" followed by "from:" and "to:" selectors. These enable users to make the extents of one box coincide with another box extents. These always operate on the box associated with the current selected instance.
In the Probe panel and the Contours panel, under "Layout Options" there are four buttons, Fit to Region, Crop to Region, Fit to Domain, and Crop to Domain. These are useful for positioning a probe within the current region, or within the full data domain.
The Probe, Contours, 2D panel, and the Image panel can also be used to re-center the flow Rake, the current Region, the Probe, and the viewpoint. These tabs have an image view in which the user can select a point in the 3D scene. The selected point becomes the center of the region, rake, probe, or view rotation center, by clicking the appropriate button at the bottom of the image section of the Image, 2D, Contours and Probe tabs. The 2D tab and the Image tab also have buttons that allow setting the box to the horizontal extents of the current region.
