Changes in accuracy during navigation

During navigation in the scene, volume and isosurface rendering can be time-consuming and interfere with interactivity.  To maintain interactivity, VAPOR automatically reduces the refinement level that is being used for the DVR and Iso rendering, while the mouse is pressed in the scene.  Users can control or disable this capability using the "Interactive Refinement" selector at the top right of the main window.  When navigating, the refinement level will be reduced only to the selected interactive refinement level (or not reduced at all if the interactive refinement level is larger than the current refinement level).

In addition, the volume renderer and isosurface renderer use a simplified algorithm for visualizing layered data during navigation.  You may notice that the volume rendering and the isosurface will change position or color during navigation.
