Isosurfaces (Iso-3D)

Overview:

VAPOR GUI supports the display of isosurfaces of any 3D variable in the VDC.  An isosurface is the surface defined by setting a 3D variable to a constant value, the "iso-value". An isosurface can have constant color and transparency, or it can be colored-mapped by any 3D variable in the VDC.  The isosurface renderer calculates the surface on the fly, enabling interactive manipulation of isovalue, color, etc.  Multiple isosurfaces can be displayed in the same region.  The following illustrates two colored isosurfaces of two 3D variables:
